The important thing is that you can update maps up to 4 times a year for free. This way you won’t have any additional expenses. Units that don’t come with free updates can cost you a lot of money over the years if you want to stay updated. With all the new roads that are built every year there is great need to update maps regularly.

Traffic updates from 3D Traffic are also free for a life time. With this system you will be always know if there is some jam or delay ahead of you. Then you can choose different route that will take you faster and more efficient than the original one. Speaking of efficiency Garmin Nuvi2595LMT has a feature called ecoRoute built in. It will optimize your route to save you fuel. This way you will save money for the gas and lessen your carbon footprint.

Know the lane feature will tell you which lane you should take making your life easier. If you are travelling a lot than this is feature is a must for you. If you miss the right exit on the highway it can take you a lot of time to get to another one. In the metropolitan areas there is also possibility to use photoReal junction view. GRAMIN 2595 will slit a screen for you and show you a realistic 3D view of the junction ahead of together with signs and lane markings. This way you will always know where to go.

It offers a lot more functions beside basic navigation; Bluetooth connection for your phone is one for example. You can connect Nuvi with the phone and make calls using your gps while driving. There are additional traveling tools included on the most modern Garmin units.

In conclusion I can say that this unit is good for all those who want to add extra safety to their driving. Voice commands are really great feature and it will save you trouble of dealing with your gps unit while you are on the road. If this is important to you, than you might consider buying Garmin Nuvi2595LMT. If you are going to use it mostly in pedestrian mode than you should probably go for cheaper navigator. 

Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT 5” TFT screen

Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT is another good street navigator from Garmin. The first thing you see when you take the unit in your hand is big, 5” TFT screen. It is sunlight readable with480 x 272 WQVGA pixel resolution. We didn’t test it in the sun but it is good feature and it works quite well on the most Garmin units – so you can expect that it works fine. Colors look very nice and the general impression is that visibility is very good.


If you are already familiar with Garmin navigators Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT will not disappoint you. It has all that you are expecting and some more. Beside standard two questions: "Where To?" and "View Map." it has “Where Am I” function that will tell you where you are in a simple way. You can get coordinates and the nearest address to your position. Also, you can find the nearest police station, hospital, gas station and additional points of interest. It comes with preloaded maps and City Navigator including millions points of interest.

The important thing is that when you buy Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT you get free lifetime updates both for maps and for traffic. You can update maps 4 times a year and it is enough to keep you updated with new road and junctions. Also, this will save you considerable money over the years for new maps. This fact should be kept in mind when you are deciding which navigator you are going to buy.

Free life time traffic update will help you choose the most efficient routes when there are some delays in front of you. It will save you time in a rush hour. There is a big difference from navigating just according to the map and according to the real conditions on the road.

Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT has a route planner – you can save up to 10 routes that are specified via points. You can even simulate driving along the route. 1450KMT will lead you Turn-by-Turn giving you voice prompts and the street names so you can always know where you are. You can choose to see 2D or 3D view of the map. Preloaded City Navigator has 6 millions points of interest and will show you even speed limits for the most of major roads in the U.S. Terrain relief is show in contours so you can know what is ahead of you.

This unit comes also with additional travel tools like picture viewer, calculator, currency and measurement converter. It also comes with HotFix technology that will make searching for satellites much faster.

All together I can say that Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT is solid street navigator that will serve you well. It is reliable and with free updates you can use it for years without any additional costs.  I would say that price is a good point of this unit. It works well and if you can get a good price you won’t make a mistake if you decide to buy Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT. 

The best GPS - Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT

Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT also comes with free lifetime maps updates -another important feature that you should consider when buying your navigator. While you can add additional maps and updates on almost all of the new units they are not free and they can add considerable amount of expanses over years. It is much better to buy the unit that has free updates, even it is more expensive. You will save money over the years. You already know that in these fast living world roads and junctions can change very regularly and that means that you will need map updates often. With Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT you can download maps up to 4 times a year for free.

Beside a lot of useful function both for travel and everyday driving Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT offers pedestrian functions for the user. It is nice that you can switch screen orientation: vertical orientation is much more appropriate in pedestrian mode. Wide, 5” screen looks great and offer very good visibility.

As you can see I like Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT, it is more modern version of Garmin’s navigator series and it is improved in many ways, from the interface to the faster operating speed. PhotoReal feature really helps and it is something I would like to have if I am in a city I don’t know well.

One thing I didn’t like is that free traffic updates comes with ads. I must say that although annoying this didn’t actually bother me a lot in real life. Ads do not interfere much with your driving map and I can live with that. At the end I can say that Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT is unit worth buying. If you find good price go for it and I am sure that you will be happy with it.

One of the most distinctive things about Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT is the new interface. Garmin did change interface a little over the time on some models but the interface on 2555LMT is totally new and if you are used to standard Nuvi software you will need a little time to know this one better. After that first accommodating time I am sure that you will like this interface more than old one. Many small things are solved in better way and it will make the whole usage easier and faster.

As on all Garmin units you can choose two basic options when you turn the unit on: "Where To?" and "View Map." The first one will let you choose your destination and the second one will show you your position on the map. Once you enter your destination you will be guided by Turn-by-Turn interface. The most of the Garmin new street navigators speak not just a turn you need to take but even street names so you can always know where you are.

Of course, this option is included on 2555LMT. When it comes to navigation “Know the Lane” feature will make your life easier if you are driving in big cities often. It will tell you what lane to take so you can take exit you need for example. Missing the right exit just because you took the wrong lane is very annoying and it can cost you a lot of time and driving. With this function you won’t have these problems any more. PhotoReal junction view additionally helps you find your way on difficult junctions. Nuvi 2555 will split the screen and show you the realistic view of the road ahead together with signs, arrows and lanes.

It also comes with preloaded maps for North America that includes 8 millions of points of interests. Free life time traffic updates are also included. You should always check when you are buying your car navigator if this included. Traffic updates helps you to avoid jams and your gps can optimize different and more efficient route. This can make a big difference in a real world and it is very important option so your gps should have it. 2555 has a SD card slot so you can load additional maps or you can load cityXplorer, custom voices and vehicles form Garmin Garage.
